The Thumb — Tuscola, Huron & Sanilac

“We serve Bay, Huron, Lapeer, Saginaw and Tuscola counties” — with 41 named communities on their site, from Bay City and Saginaw to Caro, Pigeon, Sebewaing and Unionville

The Thumb's transparency standout. Fairgrove publishes a dated price board on its homepage — propane and both heating-oil grades with their minimums — and its program page states the fees nobody else puts in writing: a $75 pressure-test-and-relight charge after a run-out, a $75 emergency/same-day fee that triggers automatically at 5% on the gauge, 500-gallon pre-buy minimums, five-day will-call windows. Founded 1928.

The Thumb — tank installation, fuel delivery and service across Tuscola and the surrounding counties

Cass City fuel company that posts daily fuel prices on its homepage — propane will-call with the minimum spelled out, #2 fuel oil by the gallon — and helps switch providers end-to-end: setting tanks and pulling the permits with local governments. Gasoline, diesel, propane, heating oil, lubricants, card-lock stations, 24-hour service.

Sanilac County and the central Thumb from Marlette; Yale and Casco offices east and south

Marlette propane company — among the best-reviewed fuel dealers in the Thumb — with offices in Yale and Casco. The Marlette address also houses the home office of Greendale Propane Partners, the family of companies Long's belongs to. (Their website was serving injected spam content at review time, so we're not linking it — the number above is confirmed from their own Google profile.)

The Thumb — serving it since 1949, per their 75th-anniversary note

Bad Axe branch of Kohler's Propane, a Thumb name since 1949. Their pitch is a capped rate — “your rate can go down, but never go up” — with a pre-buy price-cap program that starts each June and, they state, no additional fees for the cap. Home and business heat, generators, agricultural drying. The number above is from their Google profile; their website publishes none.

Huron County — Pigeon, Elkton, Bad Axe country

Pigeon propane company delivering for over forty years — residential, commercial, agricultural, and cylinder filling to the full twenty pounds. A member of the Greendale Propane Partners family.
