Comparing dealers? The five rows above are the questions to ask on the phone — card fees, minimums, will-call vs auto-fill, tank terms, deals. Get the answers in writing.
Before you sign with any dealer
- Ask the card-fee question directly — some dealers charge per payment, some don't, and it compounds over a winter of fills.
- Get the delivery minimum in gallons, in writing, and ask what happens when you need less.
- Tank rental vs customer-owned changes the math for years, not months — ask who owns the tank on your property and what the rental runs.
- Ask whether their price assumes automatic delivery — will-call sometimes prices differently.
